Link Aggregation Test procedure
In this trial both Radio Aggregation and Ethernet port Link Aggregation will be tested on iPasolink
using L2 and L3 mode alternately.
Test Conditions:
‐ iPasolink 400 F/W : 2.02.29
‐ iPasolink 1000 F/W : 2.11.13
‐ Modem slot number : 1 and 2
‐ ETH port number : 1 ~ 4
‐ Clock Module available
1. Network Configuration
2. Link Aggregation Image
3. Setup Procedure
3.1 Radio Aggregation Setting
1. Go To Equipment Setup>Radio Configuration.
2. Click Setup.
3. Modify frequency, spacing and modulation parameter on Modem#1 and select Radio Traffic Aggregation to Radio GRPn then Next.
4. Modify same parameter on previous step to Modem#2 then Next .
5. Click Next up to OK.
6. Go to Provisioning>ETH Function Setting>Link Aggregation Setting.
7. Click Modify Link Aggregation.
8. Select Distribution Rule using L2 Base or L3 Base then OK.
9. Go to Provisioning>ETH Function Setting>VLAN Setting.
10. Set VLAN tag on LAG/Radio GRP1 port then OK.
11. Verify VLAN setting on LAG port.
12. Finish.
3.2 Ethernet Link Aggregation Setting
1. Go To Provisioning>ETH Function Setting>ETH Port Setting.
2. Enable ethernet port 3 and 4 for Link Aggregation then OK.
3. Go to Provisioning>ETH Function Setting>Link Aggregation Setting.
4. Click Add LAG .
5. Select Ethernet port LAG group member.
6. Select Distribution Rule using L2 Base or L3 Base then OK.
7. Go to Provisioning>ETH Function Setting>VLAN Setting.
8. Set VLAN tag on LAG/ETH GRP1 port then OK.
9. Verify VLAN setting on LAG port.
10. Finish.
4. Test Configuration
4.1 Test Case #1 – Over Radio Aggregation (L2 Base)
Ethernet traffic distribution rule based on XOR:
‐ MAC Addr. Source/Destination
‐ VLAN ID
‐ Ethertype
Procedure
< One Stream>
1. Connect the LAN Analyzer to ETH1 on iPasolink1000 and iPasolink400.
2. Set VLAN, Ethertype and use two streams MAC Address.
3. Enable LAN Analyzer to generate only one stream (MAC1)
4. Run the LAN Analyzer .
5. Check that the throughput result 1xEthernet capacity on Radio Link.
6. Mute one of radio link on both side.
7. Check that the throughput result still 1xEthernet capacity on Radio Link.
< Two Streams>
8. Turn OFF mute of radio link on both side.
9. Enable LAN Analyzer to generate two stream (MAC1 and MAC2)
10. Run the LAN Analyzer .
11. Check that the throughput result 2xEthernet capacity on Radio Link.
12. Mute one of radio link on both side.
13. Check that the throughput result 1xEthernet capacity on Radio Link.
14. Turn OFF mute of radio link on both side.
15. Check that the throughput result back to 2xEthernet capacity on Radio Link.
16. Finish.
4.2 Test Case #1 – Over Radio Aggregation (L3 Base)
16. Finish.
